“What Kind of a New World Would it Be?” – The Margins, the online magazine of the Asian American Writers Workshop, excerpts Coolie Woman in advance of the New York City launch on November 16.

The Daily Beast published an excerpt on Nov. 5, in advance of the book’s publication in the United States.

Another excerpt of the book ran in Mint in India on publication day there, Oct. 25.

My piece on the letters home to England of an overseer in Guiana runs in the January 2014 issue of History Today.

The Playwrights Theatre of New Jersey staged a reading of “Into Dark Waters,” the fourth chapter of “Coolie Woman,” at the Madison Public Library on Oct. 10, 2013. It was part of the theatre’s showcase of the work of writers who won the New Jersey State Council on the Arts Fellowship in 2013.
